Background 23: Mythmatician

Mythmatician

There are places where the Meanings of things, and events sometimes, are affixed. They are set there, and their staying is what lends continuity to worlds, to existence. Our bodies will store memories in long-held tensions of muscles and fascia, things the conscious mind forgets but which nonetheless burble back into mind from the depths of our physiological holding, and the places where Meanings are affixed function somewhat analogously.  These Meanings are the archetypes and traumas and principles upon which this galaxy, and others, operate.

Through the depths of our being -both personal and collective- these archetypes seethe, migrate, breed, and bud--creating the basis of our experience. But they are in many ways blind, idiot gods, bound much more tightly to circumscribed behavior than us, their co-mingled creations.

You are one of those dumbly daring souls who decides to mess around with collective archetypes by way of (ridiculous) formulas and (unverifiable) proofs, usually aiming for some kind of profit.

Possessions: a book about how every book is (at the core) the same book, a map through the Underworld, a cursed key, 2d3 pocket gods, a pretentious accent (affected, & quickly forgotten when flustered)
